"Maria-Cristina Necula has let some of us who have many years of experience in opera talk freely about the joys and difficulties of our profession, and I hope that readers will come away with fresh insights into what opera is and how it is performed. The book should be of interest to aspiring young artists as well as opera lovers." -- Placido Domingo"Maria-Cristina Necula is one of the writers of today who possess great competence and profound knowledge about the operatic art... She speaks several languages and has personal connections not only to the great artists of the present but to those of the past, like Ms. Virginia Zeani. I look forward to her book with eagerness and curiosity." -- Ioan Holender"Young, intelligent, sensitive, and well-prepared. Maria-Cristina Necula has succeeded through her talent, in presenting a book filled with insights and perspectives that should be of interest to all. This book is far from being solely a compilation of interviews. Indispensable for students of singing and opera lovers alike, and enlightening for those who may not know much about opera." -- Ramon Vargas"Maria-Cristina Necula brings us together with splendid skill to offer a book that sheds light on life and work in the opera world today. I believe the singers of the Golden Age - my generation - would be pleased to witness the inspiring advice of today's singers to the singers of the future, presented in the contemporary and personal manner of this candidly refreshing book." -- Virginia Zeani
